bitinn@mastodon.gamedev.place I think The Expanse touched on this briefly, about how the poor tended to live on the outer edges of the ring due to the Coriolis effect or something? I don't quite remember.
reiver@mastodon.social rainer@socialbc.ca we're (NodeBB) Canadian!
Let's make it happen, easy to consume RSS feeds to pipe to an install of NodeBB and publish to the fediverse.
We'd be open to sponsoring the hosting of it for a year or more. Let's talk.
stefan@stefanbohacek.online Chinese is clever in many ways!
The Cantonese word for ketchup both sounds like ketchup, and literally translated means "tomato sauce".
jgordon@appdot.net yep it was pretty egregious at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada.
They'd ask for loyalty, and then present an email dialogue (with your email prefilled because they already have it) purportedly for emailing a digital receipt, but it was actually a form for mailing list signup
britt@mstdn.games to be fair, the reason this happens is because Marketplace lets you press the button to send the quick response, but doesn't open the chat, so people just keep browsing.
It's a dumb UX and it only barely works at that.
rood@aus.social that... is actually not a bad idea
If every account exposed their time zone, then your client or server could simply delay the post the appropriate amount until it's your time zone... 10pm their time, shows up 10pm your time.
oooooh.
