    @evan @hongminhee

    I am in Korea a lot. I could help you with the organizing of it.

    But, you'd need to decide on what language the conference will be in. (Korean? English? Something else?) That will affect who does and doesn't attend.

    @reiver@mastodon.social @evan@cosocial.ca Yeah, that's actually the issue I'm very considering… and I think we probably should speak multiple languages and offer some real-time AI translators (which unexpectedly worked well at @fossforall@mastodon.social last year)?

    And, there are also many other issues which are very East Asian!

      @hongminhee@hollo.social you do it and I'll be there*

      @evan@cosocial.ca keeps telling me we (informally as a group — Fediverse developers) need to increase our exposure beyond the eurozone and into Asia-Pacific.

      North America is doing well for coverage though.

      * that was a non-committal commitment

        By the way, it should be called FediKaigi if it's held in Japan, shouldn't it?

          @hongminhee @evan

          Yeah, this does seem like the first thing to figure out. (Even before the location.)

          Was @fossforall an in person event (or online)?

          How did the real-time AI translators work?

          Were they (physical) devices? Were they something that worked on people's phones or laptops? Or, something else?

            @reiver@mastodon.social @evan@cosocial.ca It was an in-person event. They gave us a link that provided real-time translations of what the speaker was saying, so we each pulled it up on our phones to read the translated subtitles.

                Were you thinking of doing it in Japan or Korea?

                      @hongminhee

                      Do you want to have a single name for the conference regardless of the location?

                      (Most conference keep the same name.)

                        Rome wasn't built in a day, so for now, it would be great to have a Social Web dev room at the @fossforall@mastodon.social or @COSCUP@floss.social, just like there was at @fosdem@fosstodon.org.
