@stefan Had too many issues with Font Awesome (limits on free tier + not wanting to pay for icons ). Eventually moved to Phosphor (https://phosphoricons.com) which awesomely has had the Fedi icon for a while now!

I do like ⁂, and it seems to be already pretty widely accepted as the new fediverse logo.

I guess I'm personally feeling a bit nostalgic about the old one, even though I'm not the biggest fan of the design itself, I will admit.

@stefan @julian its great it has its place, I am glad it exists, I have been using and promoting it since it was proposed originally. But it needs a major rethink if/when people try to shoehorn it next to a simplified pictogram

You will recall that it took me forever to decide what to use as the favicon for https://jointhefediverse.net. Especially at the time the pentagram felt more recognizable, but...everything you just said.
