    @evan

    I did not know that.

    Although, now that you mentioned it, I think I recall you and others posting about it before.

    ...

    What are the Social Web Community Group meetings like?

    (Is there a format to them?)

    @reiver okay! So it's pretty focused on W3C stuff -- the standard and extensions. But there are also discussions of tools, events, and so on. I think it might be more of a complement than a replacement for the event you're planning.

      @reiver A lot of it has been focusing on the kinds of things standards org do — chartering working groups producing reports, getting consensus on prioritization for standards work going forward etc. But there are also community updates and things like that.

        What @andypiper and I tried to do was more a developer networking kind of meeting, where new developers can ask questions, or people can show off what they are currently working on. Not FediForum-style “product demos” but “look at this piece of code that I got to work this week” kind of show and tells.

        Happy to team up on something like this, maybe @andypiper is still up to it, too.

          I think this could be a good format — ActivityPub Office Hours!

              @julian @j12t @andypiper @reiver

              OMG THAT!!!

              I know I’m a non-developer butting in, but would it be less work and better promo if you had a rotation, saaayyy… of sporadically available community convening types who could just join a casual rotation of hosts for two-hour drop in chats?

              Publish a list of date/time/meeting link and who the host or what the topic is?

                I would be happy to sponsor (NodeBB has Google Workspace), but FOSS hosts like jitsi are also good.

                Representation from the Threadiverse would be great. rimu@mastodon.nzoss.nz recently held a Piefed office hours that was convenient for both he and I (8pm GMT).

                  Dear lord I fly to Halifax tomorrow for a few days of 3-D urbanism, but I'm now scribbling out some minimal framework thoughts on a Fedi-Civic-Tech-Hacknight idea. They're all over meetup.com, we can do this.

                    Who's got a federated team calendar? Publicly read-only, approved/invited users can authenticate and post events, blabs its reminders out on the timelines?

                      If we were to do a regular online Fediverse meeting —

                      (Maybe once a month.)

                      WHAT DAYS OF THE WEEK WOULD YOU BE ABLE TO ATTEND?

                      A regular (online) meeting for Fediverse developers, for those who care about the Fediverse as a social movement, and for those who care about the success of the Fediverse.

                      Sunday?
                      Monday?
                      Tuesday?

                      Friday?

                          @reiver Sunday afternoon (CST) but if it’s just once a month it’s easy to schedule in. Later in the day always better.
