    @Mastodon Who cares? They should quit twatter anyway, then Husk's tantrums are irrelevant.

      @Mastodon It's more like I want my government to stay away from the fediverse. They will ruin it.

        @Mastodon

        THE USA IS A FACIAST STATE.

        "The European Commission's fine isn't just an attack on X, it's an attack on all American tech platforms and the American people by foreign governments," Rubio wrote in a post on X.

        "The days of censoring Americans online are over."

        His remarks were reposted by Musk, who added "absolutely".

            Recently, we contacted @alexandrageese because she has shown synergy to our effort. (1) There are similar initiatives across Europe that joined efforts under the umbrella of Escape X, please check out @helloQuitX.

              Today we are calling on institutions around the world to take control of their #DigitalSovereignty, including their social accounts. Governments should communicate directly with their citizens on open platforms, not through the mouthpiece of a corporation.

              The world needs social sovereignty

              The world needs to log off corporate-owned, centrally-controlled social media platforms and log on to a better way of being online. The world needs an open social web through the fediverse and Mastodon.

              @milieudefensie @PartijvoordeDieren @greenpeace @AnimalRightsNL @animalsavemovement @BiteBackNL @AnonimousForTheVoiceless... Please use all possibillities of the #fediverse and decentralized open source software.

              Think of mobilizing through #Mobilizon, using #Pixelfed instead of or next to Instagram, use #Peertube instead or next to youtube, use #cryptpad instead of next to googledocs.

                The Commission should consider hosting its own #fediverse instance, of some flavor, in response.

                Mastodon favored, of course...

                        @Mastodon
                        I'm this context, foreign-owned matters too.
                        Regulators are in a bind because they can threaten to block ordinary users' access to platforms (VPNs etc notwithstanding) but can't compel foreign corps to do anything, and they often ignore fines. If regulators then do block them, it's a vote loser.
