Man könne es schaffen, digitale Souveränität durch Nutzung quelloffener Systeme zu erreichen, sagte Schrödter. Schleswig-Holstein verfolgt nach Angaben von Ende November als erstes Bundesland diesen Weg. Die Landesverwaltung soll in einigen Monaten ganz ohne Microsoft-Programme wie Word, Excel und Outlook auskommen. Dann sollen die rund 30.000 Beschäftigten mit Open-Source-Programmen arbeiten, also mit Software, die in offener Zusammenarbeit entwickelt und gepflegt wird sowie jedem zur Verfügung steht."
